The Humane Society of the South Platte Valley serves the citizens and the animals of the community in many ways.  As an Open Admission shelter, we accept any animal in need.  We will not turn away any animal.  We act as a temporary shelter for lost animals fortunate enough to get reclaimed by their owners.  For those lost and abandoned animals who won't go home, we act as agents of hope for a second chance at a new beginning. 

Our mission is to make the match where an animal will never know about being homeless again!

At the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley we are passionate about making lifetime matches between our animals and their new families.  With your generous donations we can help more animals make matches that last a lifetime. 

The average stay for an animal that comes into a shelter is between 9-14 days.  It costs the Humane Society on average, $250.00 to care for an animal during it's stay.

Our dogs and cats love to sleep on Kuranda beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another dog or cat to sleep in comfort, please donate a Kuranda bed.
